Sankey Valley Park

Swans at Sankey ValleySankey Valley Park is one of Warrington’s many public parks. The historic Sankey Valley follows the course of England's oldest canal, linking St Helens with Warrington through to Widnes by footpath and cycleway.

This lush green corridor of woodlands, grasslands and water features is a haven for wildlife. Creatures include squirrels, swans, butterflies and woodland birds. Nocturnal inhabitants include foxes, owls, hedgehogs and bats. The mature forests are picturesque at any time of year with the spring flowers and autumn leaf falls particularly stunning. For water plants, animals and birds look no further than the park's many ponds.

The central part of the park which is family orientated can be accessed from Gullivers. Here you can find children’s play features, a hedge maze and lawned picnic areas.

Walkers and cyclists can follow the Trans Pennine Trail from the southern part of the park or explore the footpath network.

Whether you enjoy walking, birdwatching, angling, cycling or just want to relax in beautiful surroundings the park has something to offer everyone.
